Hi everybody

 

Once again I will be posting a mail that Bishnujee has posted in the aesi club. I liked the stuff and appreciate the work being done for the aesi folks. A big thank you to him and other for working towards that…..

 

So without much adieu here’s the mail. I have highlighted the portion I liked best and believe in.

Thanks for your highlighted problems.There has been numerous reasons behind very low pass percentage.Poor teaching and training centres and adequate facilities not at disposal to AeSI Students.I had been in AeSI Program after my fresh pass out after Matriculation and so had to pass AeSI Studentship along with Sec A & B.That has 5 subjects of AeSI Studentship along with Sec A & B.Those days in mid 90s IIT Chennai numerous Staffs from Aerospace Dept used to actively support teaching and training program for AeSI Coursework.So we used to have best of teaching stuffs.Things have changed since these professors retired from IIT Chennai and now AeSI students have to deal with new modified syllabus course work which cannot be completed in decent time frame unless teaching and practical facilities of University level is provided to AeSI Students.I don't know whether this was discussed by AeSI Governing council when they decided to go for new syllabus.Until this problem is resolved passing percntage will continue to remain low.

 

Also Students joining AeSI program should be recommended that they have certain pre-requisite course work upto certain standard level to pursue the program.Students shouldn't forget that the AeSI program and career they are entering into is application of Physics and Mathematics stuffs.Unless they are very strong in these subjects there success rate will be low.

 

Even those AeSI Students who are passing out with less than 60% should have decent career option after same and this stuffs need to be reviewed by AeSI Officials with Universities under UGC in India and also with recruitement official of Indian Aerospace firms.I am sure that they could come up with some sort of decision which would help the students Graduating out to pursue decent career.

 

AeSI Students and Graduates along with AeSI Officials are requested to co-ordinate with each other to promote and have better future for AeSI Students & Graduate and these can only be resolved by mutual discussion and better co-ordination.There will be no progress by criticising each other and self destructive crticism of AeSI and its officials.AeSI Students and Graduates should bear in mind that there identity is through being AeSI Graduate and if they don't take pride in whatever they are doing with AeSI,then no one would be respecting them and they would never be able to grow.

 

As all of you must be aware that currently I am involved with Engineers Mobility Forum in UK & USA and Professional Licensing Board in USA to ensure that all Indian Qualifications are recognised at same level as any of the local US & UK Qualifications.Things have been going out in favourable direction and we hope the future should be better for new generation.

 

AM Qualification should be covered with concurrence Bachelor Degree in Engineering and this is urgent need of hour and AeSI Officials should look into this matter seriously and I am sure that there is no better person that Air Cmde Raghubir Singh to take up this issue with AeSI Officials.

 

I would actively request all AeSI Students & Graduates to support Air Cmde Singh in his mission for growth of AeSI program and I believe he understands all of you people concern better than many other people in Aerospace Industry and I would be glad to see him in AeSI Academic wing in time to come.

2008 a review of myaesi – your chance to catch up!!

2008 is ending and many of the blogs I follow and read are coming up with their internal review of the year for 2008. This gave me the idea for this post. I will give month by month update on what has happened in this blog. This year I tested two new interface for the blog and also tested Google adverts for the blog and many other unique things that I would have never learnt if I weren't blogging

January

January began with a mail from a trainee in NAL and then there was good news for AeSI community and then I wrote one informational post regarding special information for AeSI student members and informed u about 59th AM of AeSI. Wrote about GPA and a small post regarding MS in aeronautical and turbo machinery in UK and US. Then there was Bishnujee’s response to AeSI's student membership cancellation after 8 years. and I end the month with Mistakes fresh AeSI graduates do in their interview.

February
AGM news in Hindu and waiting and announcement of results were the major news in this month, followed by announcement of Tata's entry in aerospace domain. Then I also did AeSI section A results comparison. and had some problems in posting... and wrote after exams what

March
Tips on resume from satyam, and I exclaimed about no enews from AeSI and asked you all best way to search job....and discussed  two basics questions regarding resume and how to prepare for interview and also warned graduates of AeSI on how to send resume and how to edit resume in a professional way.

April

No April fool for this month as I wrote about one cardinal rule that one must remember about interview. and posted my first ever Friday links. and posted about aerospace events of the week and about a new catia training centre launch.and touched upon 3 glaring mistakes AeSI graduates do. And posted links for online GATE preparations and preparing for aerospace interview. also shared GE interview questions,solidwork video tutorials,open letter to anna university.

May
May was the busiest month. posted about catia video tutorials,tips to pass AeSI exams,do and don'ts for AMAeSI exams, DRDA SET, and announcement of AeSI exams.

Also posted 7 signs of unprofessional resume. how to fail exams, tips for getting most of revision and revisited how I cleared my workshop exam and posted the map of examination centers of AeSI along with the announcement of Berlin air show and ended with actions that will take your career ahead.

June
This was the exam month and apart from exam related stuff I posted about industry CAD usage data, and informed you about the technical interview questions after DRDO set. Apart from this tools in aerospace and highlighted a cool tool to find tutorials and other eBooks for learning catia, solidworks. Apart from CAD programs I listed some useful jobs links for AeSI graduates and gave a general structure of a cover letter and talked about will I recommend AMAeSI to my friends and family. Informed about IIT course materials on YouTube.

I also gave general advice on 6 things that you should do in your last semester.

July

This month began with an unsuccessful contest that I ran, told you about how to accelerate your job search, resume sending tips and asked you are you taking gate 2009 exams?

I answered the question I want to work in core field, told you about Olympics and aerospace connection and updated you on the farnboroug air show and DAE university's decision to cancel aerospace and aviation program. Asked you which is the best study center for AeSI and advised AeSI students on things to do before they begin a new semester as we speculated about AeSI results and criticized IIT video lecture series and ended with tips on getting training and jump starting your next semester and stated tips to get employed after graduation.

august
This month began with important dates for gate 2009 and then I listed catia training centers in India. And talked about various things related to AeSI, like prospects after AMAeSI, 6 reasons to do training after AeSI and listed 3 websites every AeSI students should visit.

apart from the I listed the problems with AeSI degree and had a system crash and ended with tips to apply for job requirements and remarked why IIT lectures are boon to AeSI.

September
This month began with quantity vs. quality debate and reposted
Bishnujee 's message of take pride in AeSI degree. told you about kung fu panda advice. and this month saw the launch of solidworks 2009 and I saw my worst resume ever. Told you about 3 things my mentor at NAL taught me and did a section a analysis of AeSI results, and urged students of AeSI to make syllabus book there friends. also informed you about few important changes in gate 2009 format that you should know about. and argued about having your network for AeSI graduates and students. And also posted advice from rolls royce.

October
I began this month by talking about the AeSI communities on web and reacted about the worst resume of my life. I touched subjects of NAL training and how to became consistent like Australian cricket team and asked AeSI graduates to remember certain things after they pass out of AeSI. and informed you about the chandrayaan project. I also shared study tips that I learnt from my math's teacher at GIE. and then had a long delay.

November
Most of November I was out of station and I had a long delay,and posted Pratt and Whitney single core fan. and became my shorted month of posting this year.

December
I told you about why I write this blog, about inertia, and shared 4 tips on handling exam anxiety and told you about Vijay Malaya and shared an important lesson that my boss at NAL taught me and asked you to see the biggest full moon of the year.

well this is what I did on the blog for the whole year. Do let me know if I missed on something important. I would like to thank all of you for reading what I have to say. I hope in year 2009, I will be more consistent and will add value to AeSI student and graduates life. Do share your experience with myaesi with me. Thanks and happy new year everyone!!!

Bishnujee's open letter to education minister

This is the open letter of Mr.. Bishnujee singh to Dr. K Ponmudy, Minister for Higher Education Govt of Tamil Nadu regarding changes in admission of Aeronautical Society of india's addmission for ME program at Anna university.

Honorable Dr.K Ponmudy,Sincere compliments of the day.I had earlier conveyed my displeasure to Dean and VC of Anna University regarding there frequent changes to admission policy of Anna University towards Professional Engineering Graduates from Aeronautical Society of India


The changes in admission policy has been done when currently Fresh pass out AeSI Graduate Engineer is topping the ME programme in Aeronautical(Avionics) Engineering at MIT ,Chennai currently.It has been astonishing to note that when we are heading forward in 21st century,Anna University has been heading in reverse direction in 20th Century.It has been brought to my notice that the concerned reputed Anna University has made changes to admission policy after its 11th Council meetingto Professional Aeronautical Engineering Graduates from Aeronautical Society of India for ME Aeronautical Engineering program,should be possessing 2 years Post Qualification experience in order to secure admission in your reputed University programme. It has been surprising to note that Aeronautical Society of India's Engineering Graduates have been admitted in Sheffield hallam University England for there MSc in Engineering Program,Prestigious Penn State University,USA has admitted current fresh pass out Graduates from AeSIin there MS programme in AerospaceEngineering,University of Southern California has already MS Degree holders with AeSI as first qualification, University of Missouri,USA has also offeredplace in there MS program for current pass out AeSI Graduates, Salford University MS in Aerospace Engineering program in England and AeSI has been listed as Approved University list from India on University of Miami,Florida,USA,Arizona State Universityfor MS in Aerospace Engineering program and all major Credential Evaluation bodies has given AeSI same status like any other Indian University in India.Boeing Company,USA accords AeSI Graduates as same status as ABET Accrediated BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from USA University. Everything proves that AeSI Engineers have proved to be more successful in there career as Aerospace Engineer than Graduates from Other Universities like IITs ,MITs,IISc and already Boeing,NASA and Airbus where AeSI Engineers have executed successfully in many reputed Boeing 787 Programmes in USA,Airbus A380 programmes in UK and also in NASA's programmes.

I am aware that numerous staffs of Anna University are on Academic and governing council of AeSI,India and this incidents and discriminatory against Professional Engineering Graduates of AeSI is ridiculous.More over you people must already be aware that almost 98% of AeSI Graduates are full time students and it has been mentioned even in AeSI Registration form regarding that.I think they should quit AeSI Governing council before taking such ridiculous decisions.

I would be glad if you could take necessary measures to correct the process of admission for Professional Graduates in Master's program and remove the 2 years criteria for Aeronautical Society of India AeSI Engineers.

AGM draft agenda - demand your rights !!!

I don’t know if you read Mr.  Shiladitya Bhowmick’s email. But her I am posting it here in myaesi blog so that who read this instead of the group mails can come forward and be a part of the discussuion.

 

I must appreaciate the efforts of Mr.  Shiladitya and I think it’s the right time now for getting a draft a document and make consolidated effort to present student’s view at the AeSI AGM!!

 

So people, come on. Come forward with your suggestions and views!! Its your future that they are playing with!!

                 Hope all of are doing great in life and work!! This time AGM will be at Chennai in December. I am writing this letter to the group to discuss few of the serious issues relating AESI's administrative procedures. I had been following Mr. Sukhbinder's & some other mails and I highly appreciate their concern for AESI.

  

   As the subject of the mail tells half of the story. But I would like to elaborate it with some case studies. There is no proper feedback from Delhi HO regarding any matters..Aeronautical Society of India is supposed to be the professional guardian of all the student members..but things which are happening at the back stage ..no one knows!!

  

  POINT 1: One of the Graduate got training in Air India (UNPAID) and had been working there since last 15 months on an UNPAID basis and still  he hasn't been able to get a suitable job in civil aviation coz every airlines is asking for experience. MR.R.C.GOYAL calls up Air India office now and then and tells them to terminate his training as i believe AESI has made "the so-called " rules of not giving training for more than a year.

  It's not even that some one else is waiting in Queue for Air-India training...its not even that AESI has to give stipend for the candidate..its not even that Air-India is having any problem with his training..Then can Mr.Goyal give us a proper justification of his actions and trying to stop him to make a career out of his own efforts!!

  Mr.Thulasidas is the new President of AESI and he must be aware of all the whereabouts of AESI .. Is it believable that a single opening hasn't come to an AESIian in 15 months in Air-India and the guy hasn't been eligible to apply in Air-India..but this is fact!!

  Of what I have heard ,there were 20-25 Grads. last year..I would be very keen to know how many Grads.has been assisted by AESI post their degree to get a Job/Training!!!

  

  POINT 2: A GRADUATE called up Delhi HO to terminate his training at HAL ,Hyd as he got admission in MIT,Mr.Goyal tells him "WHY HAVE YOU CALLED ME?? "

  Whom are we suppossed to call ....If Mr.Goyal is so bored / disinterested in holding the secretary position of AESI , why is he taking this pain for AESI!!

  there are numerous people who are very efficient to take care of the proceedings.There had been numerous incidents like this where he behaved in a very rude manner and i don't have to tell that as i believe every1 must have experienced/experiencing that in their AESI period!

  

  POINT 3: Why is there no proper response/feedback from Delhi HO...I would like to mention Mr.sukhbinder's mail regarding this...every year they put the pass from each center and why this year its a cumulative way....If someone asks for any answer,Mr.Goyal would say ,this decision is by the Governing Council...!!any small matter is discussed in The Governing Council Meeting..So wil he kindly tell us who is part of the Governing body and who are taking these decisions or is he the Governing Body himself and taking decisions ??

  

  POINT 4:Another GRAD called up HO regarding his training after his degree.See the response they give from there --"AREE YAAR..TUJHE BHI LINE BHI LAGA DUNGA !! "

  another Grad calls up  Mr. goyal to re- confirm the urgent letter he has sent to HO regarding admission in MIT .He says-"What u want me to do? TO GO TO POST  OFFICE AND COLLECT IT FOR U??"

   

  Is this what AESI all about..?? All AeSI guys had been working very hard to finish their degree and after all this what he get to hear is this!! Aren't they making fun of it and is this a kind of behaviour AESI officials are supposed to do with a Member of AESI..!! Student community make AESI and so who has given them the authority to behave and tamper the image of AESI..!!

  

  POINT 5: Why  are AESI students restricted from getting a normal entry  into IITs,MIT?? Every1 knows what has happened this time regarding admission at  MIT,Anna Univ.(Just to let guys know that most of the national level semninar at MIT is sponsored by AESI )My question is why AESI guys has to struggle in every sphere just to convince people that AESI is a VALID degree.Wouldn't the situation been better if AESI "GOVERNING COUNCIL" takes some actions regarding this!

  

  POINT 6: AESI hands a Life Membership card with Sig. of Mr.Goyal after completion of degree.it is supposed to be meant to attend any meeting of AESI...etc.There are instances where the guy was restricted from getting into the AESI International Seminar as they believe he is not a member of AESI.We would like to request AESI not to take the pain of making the CARD which is for no good !!!

  

  POINT 7:As far as i know,Mr.Goyal is not attending any AGM since few years..is he too afraid to face the students or what??

  

  SUGGESTIONS:

  *All alumni of AESI should come up for the cause and make a council (in co-operation with AESI) which would look for the future growth of student members after their AESI degree.In this regard ,I would like to thank Mr.Bishnujee SIngh,Mr.Raghubir Singh,and numerous others for their unconditional efforts they are doing silently for the betterment of AESI Students.

  

  *All Grad. members should have the right to know the proceeding of AESI..how much revenue is been collected..how much is spent on officials..and how much for betterment of AESI..

  I would like to throw some light on a very interesting figure Mr.Sukhbinder put few months back..that 75% - 80% of AESI revenue comes from the Students and only 9% is spent on Stipend ..where is the rest of the revenue ??

  

  THIS LETTER IS JUST A DRAFT VERSION..I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FEEDBACK /RESPONSE  FROM ALL THE AVENUES OF AESI COMMUNITY --ALUMNI'S ..STUDENT MEMBERS..IMMEDIATE GRADS...

  NOW AESI modified syllabus has come with the backing of AICTE and there are more students making their membership but as far as i see...with the continuing trend in the administration....things doesnt look much encouraging..all the youngsters after their +2 might not know all this & getting enrolled with high expectations & hopes are heading to a Dead-End...!!

AeSI Student Membership cancellation after 8 years!

Dear AeSI Students & Engineers,

I have come across that many of you are in favor of extension of old syllabus students who have held AeSI Student Membership for 8 years and this issue seems to be raised by some of you at AeSI AGM in Chennai on 01 Feb 2008.Please be advised that no Under Graduate Bachelor courses should be going on for 8 years and I am not sure how AeSI has allowed 8 years terms for Associate Membership Examination in past. This should have never been allowed in first place. Also AeSI is under obligation from AICTE to switch over to AeSI new modified syllabus as soon as possible. In these circumstances it would be very difficult for anyone to help in this matter. Even in other universities examinations if you don't pass twice extra re sitting examination, you are asked to discontinue the course and no one can pass the blame on the University.
I would request you all to come with constructive means for growth of AeSI programme instead of meaningless criticism because it affects future of thousands of AeSI Students.

I quite agree with Bishnujee in this regard. Instead of pushing for this we should push forward the betterment of the examination and the assessment. Most of the times, the student is under the axe because of faulty and non transparent assessment of his exams. This was the major thing that I had faced in AeSi.


Sometimes I had this experience that I did well in the examination hall but the results and the mark sheets showed exactly the opposite trend. So major push should be in regards to betterment of the examinations, and its assessment. This will be the best thing that can happen to an existing student of AeSI.


But having said that, I do feel that people who have one subject left should be given a fair chance for the last time. And after that attempt, AeSI should go ahead with its new syllabus.

Quit AeSI

While I was at my native place back in November, someone from AeSI explained the desperate situation he was in.

The guy is from a small town with big dreams and was lured into AeSI with high hopes by the institutions that I have already talked about here in this blog. So were his parents and after sometime he realized the truth of AeSI to be a tough nut to crack and on repeated attempt he was unable to pass some subjects but his parents were under impression that their son is doing good and in the growing aerospace sector and had great future.

But the guy was under great pressure because of this and he wrote under that pressure that he wanted to quit AeSI but couldn't because of the shame and sense of betrayal before his parents. He asked me what to do?

At that time I had no answer. I was stunned by the desperation of that guy. I could see through his words and can visualize exactly what he was feeling and what situation he was in. I have seen a friend and batch mate of mine who was in the same situation long back.

At that time I thought why was I not in that position, why I never felt that even though I had my share of AeSI blues and surprises. And the fact that rose from that introspection was from day one I began AeSI, I made it a point to not to lie or withheld any information regarding my subjects and results from my parents. This decision of not keeping my parents in the dark was one the main strength that stood by me even when AeSI surprised me with its marks. During those times when I had only one subject to cross one of the milestones of AeSI, the pressure I was equal or similar that one must feel if compressed in a piston. For me since the mark sheet always went to my parents, I knew they know and there understanding acted as my escape valves.

Yes my parents had little idea about AeSI and its functioning and they freaked out when I failed or the marks were not good enough but I kept them in confidence, if it was my fault I admitted and I showed them the overall results and the whole picture so slowly they knew AeSI.

So what I can advice the guy is to be honest and come clear to his parents and if you can do it now. Do it. yes its tough but keep at it and bring them in confidence and march forward without any fear or worry.

If you can’t do any of this then Quit AeSI. Yes this is the options that I have seen 4 of batch mates execute when they felt they couldn’t take it any more and now all of them are doing great in there respective fields. One a professor, one working in managerial position and another one has began his own business. So decide for yourself. Life does not begin or end with AeSI.

Story of My-AeSI

How this blog began? today I will be telling you the little story of this blog

Back in 2004 when I was Chennai studying in GIE for the AMAeSI, I was an active member of OURAeSI, and weekly or sometimes more I used to pen my silly and sometimes not so silly thoughts there.

When I began OURAeSI yahoo 2 years back, I was all alone in that group and my ramblings never bothered anyone but in late 2004 I began to get many emails from unknown students and members of OURAeSI asking me stop flooding there emails with my ramblings. I was amused, the groups mails were opt in and the guys themselves wanted those mails but when they received any mail that was not related to job requirements they shot an email to me to stop filling there email accounts.

Understandably I ignored first few emails but down the line again those few mails resurfaced. So it was then I saw that obviously I was doing too much of the mails in the yahoo OURAeSI group and around that time I w also began to notice the blogging phenomenon so I went ahead and created my first blog and thus my-aesi was born.

Read the first post here in this archive. I am glad I did so. Since then I have filled all my thoughts as student, as AeSI pass out, as a trainee and as a working professional in aerospace industry here. Now when I see back I see this long tail of my transition and some advice that I wanted to pass on to the folks of AeSI.

The blog basically gave me the outlet, the easy medium to share whatever I learnt in all my stages of life. I could have stopped the blog just getting a job but I feel that just as this blog summarizes my journey thought AeSI and after, it will help AeSI students who come after me. This will be one more resource apart from the innumerable others that are available now. (See my post on AeSI community)

This is how this personal blog about AeSI came into being. Hope it has helped you as it has helped me grow.

What are your AeSI eureka and rude shock subjects?

Today I was asking myself what were the best exams in my AeSI tenure? Which exams I was very confident and I did well and got out well. Knowing AeSI , you won't be surprised that the list can’t be long so here's my short list of the subjects which I felt of clearing 100% while getting out of the exam hall and did so. I call them Eureka subjects!!

 

• Thermodynamics
• Strength of material
• Workshop technology
• Propulsion 3
• Aerodyanamiocs-1
• Mathematics -iii
• Mechanics of fluid

 

That’s it. Honestly I didn't expect the list to make it to number 7!!! Let me tell you that these were not the only subjects that I felt I will pass when I came out of the exams hall. There were many times when I had these feeling that I will pass but these were the subjects in which my confidence of passing and AeSI's confidence in me coincided and I cleared the subjects!!!

 

 

What about the other way round? Now let me list out of the subjects that I was absolutely sure of passing and AeSI gave me the rude shock!!!

 

• Principles of flight (not one time but twice, giving me a teasing 47 and 49 marks respectively )

 

• VMD - this is the biggest shock aesi ever gave me. Expecting 80 and got measly 38!! Even to this day I can't figure how? Even a re-checking request didn't swell the marks above 38, but surely gobbled my dad's 100 bucks that I sent for rechecking!!

 

• Workshop technology - when I gave it the first time. Anyways this was my second exam of the AeSI that I gave. And incidentally this was the first tremor of aesi in my life J

 

 

 

That's it! In the other exams I could ascertain the failures to my mistakes and in some case I am not sure but I give AeSI benefit of doubt!!

 

The subject in which I did most blunders were Mathematics -II its the subject of blunders for me. I intend to write something about this in future post,.

After june 2008 amaesi exminations, bishnujee's message to aesi students.

Here's the mail that Bishnujee wrote address all the aesi students after the june 2008 amaesi exams. I like most of it and I have made the part bold that every aesi students should follow if he/she wants to excel in his/her career.

Dear AeSI Engineers & Students,

I believe all of you done with your AeSI June Semester examination and all of you should have given your best for same.Just wanted to inform you guys that this year some AeSI Engineer has been admitted in Cranfield University,UK for MSc in Propulsion Engineering . Cranfield is rated at same level as Havard Business School in UK for Aerospace Engineering and the intake is low and carefully screened out.


Still as I have advised most of you that most important aspect in your career should be your experience after AeSI Degree completion and there is no substitute for that whatever career you choose for in future.As you might now already be aware that IIT,IISc,MIT Graduates work in same companies in same position just like any other AeSI Graduates working for this concern.Also AeSI has now been accrediated as British Honours Degree in Aeronautical Engineering which includes Old syllabus Engineers too by Department of Skills & work ,UK Govt (NARIC,UK) which has been good news for AeSI Engineering Graduates.

Another aspect which all AeSI Students should take care of during academic period is that they need to have through knowledge of subjects to excel in there career and there should be not be attitude of just going through previous question papers to pass in this examination. Waiting for aesi exam results read this inspiring email from Bishnujee

Are you waiting for the AeSI exams results. I think everyone who has given AeSIexams in June 2008 is waiting for them. A while back bishnujee mailed an inspiring email regarding this time. So i am re printing it here as it contains some solid advice that every AeSI students should keep in mind.

Many happy returns of the day. I know you guys must be waiting for your results anxiously at moment because AeSI results are around the corner. Just advise for you guys that if you pass the subject,get going with your next target and if you miss any subject,just forget that if you have appeared before in that subject and start as fresh.I know it too difficult to prepare again.Then AeSI Coursework is made like that and sometimes if you are unlucky you might get question on calculations from Rocket propulsion which you will struggle to locate in any book. I am aware of that. Hopefully this sort of error in question paper is supposed to be sorted out in future.

Also another thing I wish to inform you guys just when I advise you regarding studies or placement or how to go about doing with it in your career. Its only my personal experience and it upto you to follow it in your life or not. I advise based on my past experience since I did my AeSI ,after my X standard when I when I was still studying for XI,I appeared in Studentship Examination and got success with it in AeSI when I passed all 5 subjects at one go and still was in XI.So I didn't look back and went ahead with Section A where I had measure how much study was expected of me and I went ahead that time with passing Section A in June and December session together in 1 year and then Section B in 3 Semester. Thus due to shortage of time frame,I may had to put that extra bit effort to make up by studying prolonged hours which scared my best friends. Then things never come easy in life and we all have to do very hard work. Always do take pride in whatever you do in life. I have seen that those qualities make you competitive in life and its very important that you build up this quality in life because its foundation of success and how you do well in life in future.


AeSI or any institute is not good or bad,its the student who studies is good or bad and make marks in Aerospace community by his dedication.If you study honestly towards your goal,no one can stop you from achieving your aim. Just message to all AeSI students and Engineer that I am always there behind you in all your mission and goals. Always remember that on 10 Nov 2003 one AeSI Engineer was recipient of restigious British Cayley Award 2003 chosen by all British Aerospace Industries together from Her Majesty Queen at Buckingham Palace in London.That was the most memorable day in my life and its always once in life time achievement which every Aerospace Engineer dreams of.

Time, Change and AeSI

Times have change and Internet is been the agent of change.

AeSI is also not immune to this change. This changes began when I was still in AeSI, but out batch has the unique opportunity to see both.

I still remember when we had to call AeSI Delhi, and a harsh voice from the other end, barked at us on the mention of AeSI results. Even as we tried to decipher what to say next, the phone was slumped back and all we got was a dial tone and 10+ Rs bill being printed by the noisy std phone machine. Second call never happened. Now, all we need to do is fire up google and type AeSI June 2009 results and we know if they are out or not!!! :)

Finally when we knew the result is finally out and many have got there results out, we went and called again, feeding money to the std shop guy, this time the chap seating at the other end of the phone line, leisurely asked roll num, registration number... fail, ED pass, rest fail and bang went the phone leaving us dazed!!! This was what happened when I began AeSI...


Now it's much better with results posted on the website (www.aerosocietyindia.com if you don't know), no need of calling, wasting money and listening to the barks, just launch a browser and get the AeSI results for any roll number you want...

So the next time when you are checking your results, be thankful. Realize how far AeSI has come in this few years. I Hope this progress continues and does go deep into the places where it matters, like transparency in exams, help in placement and support of AeSI graduates...

Why not to go to AeSI Alumni meet?

• Because you will meet old friends? So what's new. You meet everyone daily?
  


• Because this a networking opportunity that you can miss? You have many mores to attend.

Five ways of study to crack AeSI exams

I have already restated all this before but again it needs a reminder.
Aesi is tough. It needs more time, more effort and more concentrated
effort. So here are five simple yet powerful ways that one can
incorporate in his or her study habits to crack AeSI.

1. Study with the syllabus book. Read all the topics. Pick and
studying just what is taught in the class is not sufficient, one need
to study systematicly and cover all the topics listed in the syllabus
book. It did cost me twice in my aesi exams so don't ignore the

2. Go for the basic theory. Master it, digest it, marinate on it, chew
it. Once all this is done go for the questions, just reading onces and
solving tons of questions won't help. Understand and digest the basics

3. Pen and paper study. Don't just use your mind and fingers to read
and study. Get a rough copy and pen. Draw brainstrom and study. Don't
just write the definitions draw them, connect the new info with the

4. Revise everyday, every topic. Whatever new you study revise it the
next day, the next week and thereafter. This helps you to keep you

5. Read thoroughly. Read the full chapters. Read the full text. This
is where the main core is. Justing reading once and concentrating on

How to pass aesi exams ? -from ouraesi

This is the month when OURAeSI was born 6 years ago, so i was just looking at some of the great posts in ouraesi group for the students and i found this gem of a post from the achieves of OURAeSI. It is written by Sunil and i agree with him about the part where he mentions solving lot of problems. Do read his post here which he aptly names as How to pass exams?


I suggest all great AerosocietIans to help there juniors to share
there experiences in this message group. The main idea is to get
some masala to juniors, which helps them in passing Aero.

In this regard, I suggest juniors not only study to pass
examinations, but to understand the phenomenon or theory behind the
problems of the subject. Although this is well known to lot of
persons but still many have problems in passing examinations. I dont
point to there hard work, since most of peoples work hard but the
right approach is missing.

For example: I came across guys during my society, who spend 20 hrs
of there day in solving lot of problems of various books but don't
understand the theory or idea behind the topic. Solving lot of
problems gives you confidence for sure, but sometime it is not
useful since in Exams probability of repeating questions with same
variables is less. This may be only general comment since i don't
know the ongoing pattern.

Also i may not be fully correct and lot of peoples wont agree from
me, but that is the motivation from my side to other peoples to
share there experiences. Which for sure will help juniors pass there
examinations and build a base for there further studies or future
work.

How to pass aesi?

Lot of people ask me how to pass aesi.

And the answer is you pass aesi by hard work , by determination and by
getting up daily.

Yes getting up daily and devoting your first hour of your day on
revising all that you have read the previous day is key thing that can
make you pass aesi without much effort.

Ask my mom, and she is an ardent fan of getting up earlier and
devoting the earlier hours to the most important thing of your life.
This could explain the morning habit that he induced in us. Her
technique is simple but it works if it's put into practise consitently.

So why not apply it in your life for the next 30 days. For the next 30
days pledge to get up earlier than you usually get up and apply the
hour to the most important task of the day.

Try it for a month and you will not regret the new habit that you will
form.

Will you recommend AMAeSI to your friends and family - revisited

Back in July 2007, exactly 2 years back I posted this poll "Will you recommend AMAeSI to your friends and family." and the poll is still going on.

As I revisited it I saw that No is still wining. And I found many interesting comparison that people made about AMAeSI. Chief among them were.

AMAeSI course is like AIDS. and Doing AeSI is like walking in a dark alley with a moving target.

AMAeSI is definitely hard but not impossible like how some other people here are saying! I am currently doing my 4th semester and I have passed 8 subjects of Section A. True u have to work much harder than normal BE or B.Tech students but the knowledge you gain is far more than the others students, that’s why the first 20 ranks in the GATE examinations are usually taken up by AMAeSI students! Hard work and determination. As for Job prospects? The sky is the limit. I recommend if your ready to study hard.

Going for AeSI is like going for target who u can see before moving but once u follow that u will lose most important years I can’t tell how many because only few are the ones who achieve that and the one who achieves is on the seventh heaven so try for btech through competitions like IIT , aieee ,uptu etc. best of luck

well, I have completed diploma in electronics and telecommunication engineering from IETE-Delhi its also a distance learning course like AMAeSI, now let know something about AMAeSI 1. Its is an govt. recognized course but not AICTE approved or UGC 2. Its very very difficult course, and there are few persons who know about this course 3. Its is easy to says 4 yrs degree course but only few body can pass AeSI within 4yrs. 4. this course is for who they doing service like in air force, navy, or other private companies, if you have lower score in 12th or diploma then try to prepare for JEE, AIEEE, and join IIT, MIT, anna university, UP technical collage, punjab university or other top university in India, or you can study abroad for aeronautical or aerospace engg. but keep in mind that try to avoid AeSI for making your future.

I just cant recommend other for this..as we know its too tough to clear all the papers within 4yrs..even we r not satisfied with our paper checking,question pattern, so AICTE approval degree is better. at least they can complete their degree within 4yrs. so just forget about AESI.

I kindly suggest to any one don’t come to this course for aero engg u go to IIT’s or isro started new college ....... do your best in 12th n try to crack iit jee or aieee........ otherwise go though any regular course its cheapest course but u have to face lot of problems n have to spend min one yr more to join t our job so if u have that DUM then only dare to do it!!!!!!!!!!

I do not think I would ever do that! its better to pay a sum of money and get a degree in aeronautics from a private engg college rather than slug it out in the dark alleys of AeSI. After all that we have suffered I strongly recommend that do not join AeSI. Being in AeSI u seem to miss the charm of doing regular B.E Degree. It takes time to get the required respect in ur work place too.

The effort required to complete this course is not worth it. The brilliance required to complete this course could be utilized where one can get some good results. Though you gain something but you stand to loose lot more than you gain.

No I will never recommend it to anyone, I’m not saying that this course is bad but the whole process of this course is nothing but a torture, and these r not my words this is from someone who holds a responsible position in society itself. well in my words, the society authorities r just for namesake,whenever we try to communicate with them they abuse us, well apart from that when u somehow complete it, then starts real problems, no recognition, unpaid trainings,treatment like an uneducated laborer. a graduate from any regular college will be given better salary for the same post but not to us. the process most of the time takes so much of time that we after completing it end up somewhere else, coz in this whole frustrating and long journey we loose our passion and energy , we forget y we joined this particular course and we in end satisfies with whatever comes our way, coz there r people waiting for us to complete, they r dependent on us, n they have almost lost hope on us. so if in the end if we r going to satisfy with anything then y opting for this torture. go to any other college and feel the college environment , coz I really feel that in this whole process I missed this important thing of life. some people may not agree with me but all this I have personally experienced and I can tell u the names of so many students and graduates who r going through the same n heading towards satisfying for anything. so I will never recommend this course for anyone.

I suggest to join the regular College first but if not able to join (due to some circumstances) then it is better to join the Course specially AMAeSI. As Students learns a lot in Engineering College : New opportunity,Campus environment, Regular Practical , Interaction......

Unless the society as such doesn't change I am very reluctant to recommend AMAeSI to anyone let alone friends and family. Examination and transparency is the most needed in AeSI. Or it will just remain the money generating wing of AeSI!!!

I would suggest students to take up this course simply because of the fact that its the course of the future. Aerospace industry is booming in India and we are short of aeronautical engineers.

yes it is true what Uma Maheshwar said . Many of the students r suffering badly as I am one among them . It is better to go to the regular college scoring high percentage completing within a fixed period and can apply for all colleges for higher studies.

Not necessarily. By doing AMAeSI one can aim going for a PG in a short period. He will the so called environment there. Even otherwise there are lot many opportunities now in airline sector on maintenance.
