Ever since I created ouraesi.ning.com, a network just like orkut with an aim to unite and network all present and past members of AeSI, people has asked me why one another OURAeSI network when we have two full fledged groups ouraesi and aeronautical society of india in yahoo.
That's true, we have those groups and they are flourishing, they have 1000+members in each and it growing with days. There we have emails and people forward queries and job requirements there but have you noticed they are passive, they talk to the whole group. Where is the one o one bonding. Where is the i-know-you, you-know-me and other things that a network should have...
So that's why ouraesi.ning.com is there....
These are following advantage that it provides.
- In Ouraesi.ning.com here we can interact. Interact in the sense I can scrap someone, open up a discussion in the forum and keep myself updated on all the news that's happening in AeSI community and my friends in AeSI.
- We get to know each other better as lot of interaction in terms of your friend, my friend and such thing that are possible on ouraesi.ning.com
- As I said earlier more scope of one o one interaction. No need of sending mails to everyone or the two groups have a topic in mind that you want to be discussed use the forums for community interaction. Much more immersive discussion happen that way and they are always there for everyone to see so they are not lost in the bulk of emails that happens in yahoo groups.
- Ouraesi.ning.com is more focused and active and you and everyone connects through each other. This is more akin to our offline life as it helps you to be in touch with friends in AeSI much easily and who knows you might bump in to your college crush on the network!!
- As ouraesi.ning allows you to create your own page, so you can have your own PR and marketing division. They say build a brand and here is the place you can begin it. Build a profile that attracts and shows your skill set, some of the members are working and they might refer you to their firms. Who knows. As an AeSI member,we can use it as a forum to increase your worth. Brand yourself.
And last of all someone will ask why it is named as ouraesi. well frankly when I created it, this was the best name I liked.
It doesn't have any affiliation with OURAeSI group so all members of AeSI are free to join it.
