Make syllabus book your friend

Collecting books will not help you... go with the one book that is available.. use it as your base book and take up the syllabus book. its more important,..

Don't decipher the syllabus from the previous year's question papers take a proper syllabus book and then move ahead.

I had to waste a full semester because I forgot or by passed this simple fact. This cost me 6 months as i have to give principle of flights exams again. It so happened that i thought i was well prepared for flights exams, I have covered all topics, even in class that I took I did everything

but then when I was handed the question paper I saw that more than 30 marks came from a different section that I have not touched. My first reaction was its out of syllabus....as I came to room the first thing I did was to get the syllabus book and was amazed that section was there in the syllabus book and the questions they asked came directly from the topics mentioned there.

So my advice to all AeSI students is go ahead and bring that syllabus book to your regular study table and open it.. study from it. Refer it often and study....

July is the month when student of AeSI are free, not with Colgate tooth paste. But free from studies :). After the exams either they are home or are pursuing other interests. For some it’s the month to come to Bangalore for further training and other stuff. Special information for AeSI students
This is an information I posted about AeSI ‘s announcement of not continuing the old syllabus. So from this semester onward, there will be no distinction between modified and un-modified syllabus.


What are your views for the modified and unmodified syllabus? In one community that I am member of most of members were in favor of the modified syllabus. I have had a glance at that syllabus and I guess it’s more relevant and structured and although you get more subjects but it includes good stuff and is really well. If I were to do AeSI again, I will choose the modified syllabus.



Where can i learn NASTRAN and CATIA?
This is an old post that keeps popping out. It was the post that I wrote back in June 2005 after the AeSI exams and waiting for AeSI results to be announced. It was the time when I was lazing around in my home town Kolkata and was searching for a CATIA and NASTRAN institute. Some tips for getting the best of your exams and study times.

Be confident. confidence comes with preparation. so prepare well, get your syllabus book in hand and get going. i missed some topics in my exam days and had to re`-give the exams just because i missed parts of the syllabus.. learn from it.


The best advice my mom gave me was to study regularly and not keep thing till the end and i have applied it in my days of aesi. But if that is not the case with you and you see a heap of syllabus staring at you,then begin with small steps. Break the whole syllabus up in topics that you already know, the one that you have studied, the one that you consider easy, the one that is small, the one that is big, the one that come in exams most of the time. Then begin doing the easiest one. This is the technique of picking the low hanging fruits. See your syllabus as a tree,before you begin to climb get the low hanging one. Then prepare for the other one. Make a list of topics in a paper, keep it always in front of your study desk, strike off the topics as you do.

Everyday schedule a time for revision. one hour everyday. As exam approaches this time should increase.

your study time should always be divided into 2, New study hours and Revision time. Just at the beginning of the semester new study hours will dominate your total study time but then also always have at least 1 hour revision time. This is must as this enforces you to recollect what you have already learnt.In the revision hour you recall what your are learning in your new studying time. As your semester progresses, new study time decreases as more and more syllabus i covered, and this time begin increasing your revision time. And just before the exam time the time of revision should be the max.

Best memorization and retention occurs when you discus the topics. In your spare time discuss the topics of you have studied with friends and if no friends in interested, take a virtual class in your imagination. Use your imagination. Image you are taking a class, you are the teacher and teach that topic. See yourself drawing and explain the topic in detail in blackboard, See yourself answering the doubt of your students. I bet you will remember the topic for life.

Groups study are famous, Well they are good but do them only for new study time. New study time is when you are learning or reading a new topics. But revision should be alone. Revision time is the time when you recapture what you have learnt in your new study time, so keep the distraction to minimum and do it alone.

No further extension beyond eight years will be granted henceforth.

Examination of subjects of Section 'A' old syllabus stands discontinued with
immediate effect.

Examination of subjects of Section 'B' of modified syllabus will commence from
June 2008 session.

Examination of elective subjects only of Section 'B' (Revised syllabus) will
commence from June 2009 session with schedule as follows:-

Subjects Serial No. Exam to be held in
OS 01 to OS 10 June session only
OS 11 onwards December session only

For 6 week Workshop training capsule in the revised syllabus, necessary details
of place of training, to be communicated to AeSI Head Office, four weeks before
its commencement.

The Training can also be undertaken at Technical Polytechnics and ITI's, and the certificate to be signed by the Head of the place of training.

Student members completing Section 'A' of old syllabus are free to opt for
Section 'B' of revised syllabus as per their convenience.

My biggest mistakes in AeSI as a student

We all make mistakes. Some small, some big, some significant, some
trivial, but if we learning something from them then they are all worth.

Here In this series of post I will present some of my biggest mistakes
of my AeSI days!

1. Once I skipped exams thinking I am not prepared well. It was
flights paper and I thought I was not ready and I skipped the exam on
last moment and then paid the punishment for it for two more semester.

2. Not studying by the syllabus book. Again in flight I studied
everything that was taught in class, I had all the notes, I studied
from Anderson, kermode, and all other books and when I went to the
exam hall, I saw 30 percentage of question coming out of syllabus. I
cursed aesi.

And when I come home and tried verify any claim of outside of syllabus
question paper I saw how untrue that was. Those questions came from
the topics that were listed in the syllabus book. I was shocked that
some of the questions came from topics that were listed in the very
first line of syllabus.

3. Another big mistake that i did was I stopped following a teacher. I
thought he is not teaching well and I stopped attending his clases.
This didn't improve my studies but it nose dived the discipline of the
tutor.

As the tutor rolled over, I deterioted in that subject.

This were my biggest mistakes as an aesi student. I will keep this
theme alive and will post more on my other mistakes.

Section B highlights of December 2009 AeSI results

Section B still has two categories Modified syllabus and unmodified syllabus, so first i will do a provide similar graphs as i did for section A subjects.

Count is the number of students that 

Aerodynamic design and testing and Advance strength of Materials (ASM) has the highest count. This highest pass outs are in this two subjects.

Average is the average of the marks that each of the subjects gathered. It gives and indication of how easy and difficult it is to score in a subject of section B

Average in Section B old syllabus is lower than section A. Maintenance of avionics has the highest marks while avionics 1 had just 50 as its highest.

Among aerodynamics, aerodynamics-2 is higher than aerodynamics 1. In propulsion, propulsion 3 leads while propulsion 1 is the lowest.

Average marks in propulsion subjects are less than 55%, much lower that core aerodynamics subjects.

 

Maximum marks obtained in each subject

 

Mathematics 3 tops with 93 marks. Those are good marks. thermodynamics topped for section A, ASM and aerodynamics 1 are close second.

In propulsion subjects 1 2 and 3 , highest marks is not even crossing 68 that was the lowest highest mark in any subject in section A new syllabus!!

 

Median

 

This one is new and not present in section a results but is important. Here’s how?

Median is the middle. In maintenance of avionics instruments, 50% of the people who pass got 81 or above marks.. See this statistics to know what marks you need to get to be well above 50% of the passing students.

As you can see many people just passed, as last few subjects in the above graph showing 50! The poor performance of propulsion is evident in this.

 

Standard deviation.

This one is new and not present in section a results but is important. Here’s how?

The higher the standard deviation, the higher the fluctuation. If we compare Sachin’s and Shewag’s younger days career for same period of time, we will notice that Sachin has low deviation while Shewag has high standard deviation. What this mean,  low standard deviation means its consistent. So sachin was much more consistent than Shewag!

Similarly here the subjects having low standard deviation means that the subjects consistent  average marks for those who passed the subject.

A zero deviation means the subject is consistent and most of the people got average marks.

Highly fluctuating subjects were... Mathematics 3, ASM, Aerodynamics 1 and VMD!! They produced results from that varied from 50 to the highest marks.

AeSI exams: Don't forget the syllabus book

It's may and it's the time when aesi students are mostly attached to
the books, it's the time when books are integral part of aesi students
life. Yes books do feature everytine but this is one time when you see
more books related to studies on aesi students hand. Well this was the
way it was when I was in aesi, hope it's the same now!!

What I want to tell everyone studying for the upcomming aesi amaesi
exams is get the syllabus book in hand when you study.

I have two instances in my aesi exam experience that not looking at
the aesi syllabus book cost me 6 months!! So keep the aesi syllabus
book handy!! If you don't have it, look for it, xerox it but keep it
open when you study for the exams!!! I can't emphasize it more!!

Most of the time questions in exams are on the patterns of how
syllabus is organized. So take advantage of this fact!!!

Suggestions for AeSI improvement - highlights of aesi's enews

Ok ok I know that PDF didn't get published. As i post most of my entries via email. That PDF didn't go through the blogger platform and you weren't able to see the document. So here's the link for the 2 specific articles that I wanted to point your attention.

The articles are from Air Cmde Raghubir Singh (Retd) FAeSI- 732 and Dr G Madhavan Nair President Aeronautical Society of India.

 

Both of them deal with the improvement of aesi for the betterment of the students!

 

The articles assumed significance because of the fact that while in the AGM in cochin Air Cmde Raghubir Singh  gave a presentation which has really awaken other members on the plight of the students and everyone there did talked about improving it for the students. And there were questions raised towards Mr. Bhaita to answer. If you were there you could have seen how uncomfortable Mr bhaita became while answering.

 

So this articles getting published in enews is one step showing that people are listening and they haven't forgotten about us. So friends, this AGM lets us prepare our case strong and give a presentation telling the story from our (the student) side.

 

I know many of you might be thinking that this is bullshit and this will never work out, but let me tell you, if it doesn't work out its because of  you people who betray us. It’s because of you, who can't stand by your fellow aesians! So if you can't contribute positively and can't stand with us, I say you have no right to have a negative opinion about it!

 

Anyway here's the highlight of articles

 

• The question papers should be set from the syllabus-taking into account the depth possible based on the coverage.

 

• The syllabus while remaining on the elite IIT pattern should also take into account all India university syllabi –without diluting the our standards..

 

• Practical training, experiments & testing should form part of AMAeSI syllabus. Perhaps 50% marks can be catered for these.

 

• Project work, seminars & internal assessment under the accredited guides can be included

 

• Further rationalization of question paper setting so that good student can pass the examinations. Still out of syllabus questions continue to be set in our examinations.

 

• The question papers should be such that it tests the students for knowledge as per the syllabus & not the lack of it by post- graduate level questions

 

• It should be borne in mind that the students opting for AMAeSI, are either in service or students mostly in the 50-65% PCM marks bracket at 10+2 level. Without lowering our standards, the question papers must be such that these can be answered & does not result in dismal pass percentage

 

• The question paper setting, answer book checking & moderation should be in rotation at the institutions or by the Fellows of the AeSI.

 

• Model answers by the paper setters & marking system should available.

 

• It would be quite advantageous if subjects having greater coverage & depth are spread over a longer periods for better comprehension. For example subjects like Applied Maths-I, Introduction to Aeronautics can be telescoped over at least one year period.

 

Five ways of study to crack AeSI exams

I have already restated all this before but again it needs a reminder.
Aesi is tough. It needs more time, more effort and more concentrated
effort. So here are five simple yet powerful ways that one can
incorporate in his or her study habits to crack AeSI.

1. Study with the syllabus book. Read all the topics. Pick and
studying just what is taught in the class is not sufficient, one need
to study systematicly and cover all the topics listed in the syllabus
book. It did cost me twice in my aesi exams so don't ignore the

2. Go for the basic theory. Master it, digest it, marinate on it, chew
it. Once all this is done go for the questions, just reading onces and
solving tons of questions won't help. Understand and digest the basics

3. Pen and paper study. Don't just use your mind and fingers to read
and study. Get a rough copy and pen. Draw brainstrom and study. Don't
just write the definitions draw them, connect the new info with the
already present information. Connect different topics and strengthen

4. Revise everyday, every topic. Whatever new you study revise it the
next day, the next week and thereafter. This helps you to keep you
immersed in the subject. Helps you quicly connect the new to the old

5. Read thoroughly. Read the full chapters. Read the full text. This
is where the main core is. Justing reading once and concentrating on
solving questions, papers won't help you. Read throroughly. Read
thrice. This is the only way to get to imprint what you read on your

5 things not to do in AeSI for AMAeSI exams

In today's post I will discuss 5 things NOT to do when you are in AeSI
and aiming to clear AMAeSI exams. They are from my experience of going
through aesi. Hope they will chart a path for you and you will avoid
them in your journey.

1. Don't skip the in basics
I did this in fluids and though I passed the subject in first attempt,
but I had a tough time when I encountered those basics again in
aerodynamics-1. So remember to cover the basics before you delve
deeper. In mathematics II, basics came handy for me as the paper
revolved around it.

2. Don't forget the syllabus book
As discussed in many previous post, you will automate and streamline
your study schdule if you study a subject with the syllabus book. Not
only syllabus gives all the topics in logical order but it will make
sure you don't miss any.

3. Don't skip exams, whatever be your preparation.
This happened to me, I thought I have not prepared well for principles
of flights and so I didn't go to the examination hall. That turned out
to be a grave mistake when I saw the question paper, later that
evening. And that mistake cost me two semester in which I had to study
flights. So whatever be your preparation, don't skip the exams. If
nothing more you will train your mind to be the examination hall.

4. Don't lie about your results.
After the exams don't lie about your results especially from your near
and dear onces. I have seen how students falsedisguise their results
and cause tension and anxiety in them. This lie snowballs and not only
spoils your next attempt but also hurts your near and dear once when
they come to know about it. I have never done this and this had kept
me inso many surprises that AeSI threw at me during my days of AMAeSI.

5. Don't be an island.
Since AeSI has no proper institution, meeting and having lots of
seniors and friends and network is rare. So form relationship. Use
internet, this website, ouraesi, aesi and aesiaa groups to be
connected to the aesi community!! In fact this website and ouraesi
sprang to make sure aesi students and graduates do not remain in an
island. So get involved and connect.

How to accelerate your GATE preparation?

Gate 2010 exams are nearing and by now you want to accelerate your
gate 2010 preparation. You want to push through the syllabus and get
more out of your study time.

Then here's a simple but effective technique to accelerate the pace of
your learning.

For this to work. You are required to have read the topics at least
once. You need to know what is where and what is what of the gate
syllabus.

The technique is to "take open book test" once you have covered some
topics or part of the syllabus!!

Simple but works everytime.

Gather 4 textbooks or question papers of your chosen subjects and
randomly take a open book test.

Atempt the questions without seeing the book. If stuck, try hard to
remember the answer and if no success then only see the book. Ater
seeing write down the answer without peeping at the answer again!!

Do it enough time and you will see how much you can cover in shot span
of time. Do it with all the topics, do it several times and you will
see how testing yourself, this way, increases your learning capacity.

Why it works I don't know! But it works. I have used this countless
times in my studies in AeSI!

And while selecting questions randomly, don't read the question you
are selecting. Just think of some random numbers and answer questions
against those numbers.

Hope you will at least give this simple exercise a go. Go test for
yourself.

Surprises

Standing at the other side of AeSI, I can tell you students out there. Hang in there. Yes its frustrating, the examination and the results most of the time do not match. Sometimes questions that came are not meant for exams, Sometime 80% of the questions are coming form a  single topic, or sometime the question requires a long explanation but has only tiny marks are allocated to it.

Sometimes the questions are just the repeat of the last semester  questions. Sometimes its just the combination of 2 or 3 papers question picked and juggled and sometimes its entirely new in pattern and topics selected.

Studying does make you tackle all this but what is needed is the mental discipline, mental effort to see through the surprise.

Natrajan Sir once explained the best way to tackle this is to keep yourself  prepared. expect to be surprised then only you won’t be surprised. One gets surprised only when he/she is too concentrated on the examination papers and shuns the syllabus book. So the best strategy is to begin with the syllabus book, then as you progress in your studies get question papers onboard.

Question papers are to give you a familiarity of the exams, they are there to check yourself on your preparation. Don’t fix too much on the question paper and the pattern, don’t study based on what question papers seem to suggest, study according to the syllabus book.

How to Study in 30 days

In my mail I had quite a few querries from some students of AeSI who
say they have less time and how can they utilize the time so that they
pass the 3 or 4 subject they are appearing for this time.

I believe that regular consistent study is the best way. But I know
life throws circumstances when you are into situations where you begin
your studies just days ahead of exams. For those situations here is
the list of things i would do.

Take it as a challenge.
Take the task as a challenge . Think it as a goal that you have to
reach. Make aggressive changes in your daily routine to get to this
challenge. Shun self pity and make moves to get the maximum of your
time. Time and productively with which you will study is the key.

Concentrate on two subjects a mix will be better.
Doing 3 or 4 subjects is lot. Since time is limited. It's better to
Choose two subjects and give your maximum attention to them. It's
better to be passing two subjects than stuggling with time to study
all 4. Bake two subjects carefully rather than having all four
subjects half baked.

While choosing the subjects, choose subjects that are different. One
theory based one numerical based. This way you can divide your time
between this two and won't feel bored studying the subjects most of
the time.

Take the syllabus book.
As always, with the subjects choosen get the syllabus book and begin
your exam preparation. Cover the topics as listed in the syllabus book.

Read all the already read and previously read stuff. Complete the
basics of all the topics. Study with a plan. Study with pen and paper.
Draw and make connections on what you are studying.

Take the question paper solve the easy parts.

Don't plan to cover all but get to cover 80%

Plan a schedule and action on how to tackle all the different types of
question you get in that particular subject

Begin with simple stuff
Begin with the known. To retain what you learnt revise daily. Talk
about the topics you study. Connect new topics with the old topics
that you already know.

AeSI Student Membership cancellation after 8 years!

Dear AeSI Students & Engineers,

I have come across that many of you are in favor of extension of old syllabus students who have held AeSI Student Membership for 8 years and this issue seems to be raised by some of you at AeSI AGM in Chennai on 01 Feb 2008.Please be advised that no Under Graduate Bachelor courses should be going on for 8 years and I am not sure how AeSI has allowed 8 years terms for Associate Membership Examination in past. This should have never been allowed in first place. Also AeSI is under obligation from AICTE to switch over to AeSI new modified syllabus as soon as possible. In these circumstances it would be very difficult for anyone to help in this matter. Even in other universities examinations if you don't pass twice extra re sitting examination, you are asked to discontinue the course and no one can pass the blame on the University.
I would request you all to come with constructive means for growth of AeSI programme instead of meaningless criticism because it affects future of thousands of AeSI Students.

I quite agree with Bishnujee in this regard. Instead of pushing for this we should push forward the betterment of the examination and the assessment. Most of the times, the student is under the axe because of faulty and non transparent assessment of his exams. This was the major thing that I had faced in AeSi.


Sometimes I had this experience that I did well in the examination hall but the results and the mark sheets showed exactly the opposite trend. So major push should be in regards to betterment of the examinations, and its assessment. This will be the best thing that can happen to an existing student of AeSI.


But having said that, I do feel that people who have one subject left should be given a fair chance for the last time. And after that attempt, AeSI should go ahead with its new syllabus.

Take pride in AeSI

Hi everybody

 

Once again I will be posting a mail that Bishnujee has posted in the aesi club. I liked the stuff and appreciate the work being done for the aesi folks. A big thank you to him and other for working towards that…..

 

So without much adieu here’s the mail. I have highlighted the portion I liked best and believe in.

Thanks for your highlighted problems.There has been numerous reasons behind very low pass percentage.Poor teaching and training centres and adequate facilities not at disposal to AeSI Students.I had been in AeSI Program after my fresh pass out after Matriculation and so had to pass AeSI Studentship along with Sec A & B.That has 5 subjects of AeSI Studentship along with Sec A & B.Those days in mid 90s IIT Chennai numerous Staffs from Aerospace Dept used to actively support teaching and training program for AeSI Coursework.So we used to have best of teaching stuffs.Things have changed since these professors retired from IIT Chennai and now AeSI students have to deal with new modified syllabus course work which cannot be completed in decent time frame unless teaching and practical facilities of University level is provided to AeSI Students.I don't know whether this was discussed by AeSI Governing council when they decided to go for new syllabus.Until this problem is resolved passing percntage will continue to remain low.

 

Also Students joining AeSI program should be recommended that they have certain pre-requisite course work upto certain standard level to pursue the program.Students shouldn't forget that the AeSI program and career they are entering into is application of Physics and Mathematics stuffs.Unless they are very strong in these subjects there success rate will be low.

 

Even those AeSI Students who are passing out with less than 60% should have decent career option after same and this stuffs need to be reviewed by AeSI Officials with Universities under UGC in India and also with recruitement official of Indian Aerospace firms.I am sure that they could come up with some sort of decision which would help the students Graduating out to pursue decent career.

 

AeSI Students and Graduates along with AeSI Officials are requested to co-ordinate with each other to promote and have better future for AeSI Students & Graduate and these can only be resolved by mutual discussion and better co-ordination.There will be no progress by criticising each other and self destructive crticism of AeSI and its officials.AeSI Students and Graduates should bear in mind that there identity is through being AeSI Graduate and if they don't take pride in whatever they are doing with AeSI,then no one would be respecting them and they would never be able to grow.

 

As all of you must be aware that currently I am involved with Engineers Mobility Forum in UK & USA and Professional Licensing Board in USA to ensure that all Indian Qualifications are recognised at same level as any of the local US & UK Qualifications.Things have been going out in favourable direction and we hope the future should be better for new generation.

 

AM Qualification should be covered with concurrence Bachelor Degree in Engineering and this is urgent need of hour and AeSI Officials should look into this matter seriously and I am sure that there is no better person that Air Cmde Raghubir Singh to take up this issue with AeSI Officials.

 

I would actively request all AeSI Students & Graduates to support Air Cmde Singh in his mission for growth of AeSI program and I believe he understands all of you people concern better than many other people in Aerospace Industry and I would be glad to see him in AeSI Academic wing in time to come.

3 ways to beat AeSI's uncertainty!!

As you begin your journey with AeSI for yet another semester, here are
3 things to keep in mind that will help you beat AeSI's uncertainty!!

Do not believe in the previous years question papers, instead use a
syllabus book. Just studying with an eye on the previous years
questions is sure shot way of drowning. Instead use syllabus book to
guide you, what to study. Use the question papers to regularly check
your progress.

Go under the topics. Study with your mind.
Just mugging up all the topics, without understanding anything won't
help you. A all night haul before the exam may cruise you out of that
exam, but in the long run, you will need that knowledge if you want to
be an engineer. So study with your mind. Understand and study.

Be prepared. AeSI's is like a tenis match where they want to exhaust
you. They want you to loose, they want to out play you. Just knowing
this and keeping this in mind while studying and preparing for it can
help you in tackling the odd ball serves, that AeSI dishes out!!

So don't let AeSI to exhaust you, throw you off balnce and score
against you. Beat the odds by preparations!!

How AeSI fails you?

Here are some of the things AeSI throws at you to fail you. Knowing
them will help you navigate your AeSI journey without bumps.

By concentrating on one topic? Syllabus is vast but during exam time
we see 70% of questions coming from one section of the syllabus.

By following a completlely different pattern of questions. For years
same pattern of topics are repeated and all of a sudden, the focus
shifts and the pattern of questions changes without warning.

By asking wrong questions in the wrong papers? Take flights question
paper, some questions in this mostly borders on the subjects of
propulsion and structures subject.

By surprising you with the easiest paper? Most of the mathematics
questions that I have faced, I was surprised twice how easy they were.
I practised all the tough questions and did them again and again but
in the exams I found the simple ones which stumbled me.

By making the paper lengthy? Some papers, especially with papers like
workshop technology, rocket propulsion, etc. questions are set such
that if they aren't answered correctly they become lenghtly and
completing the papers in time becomes a challenge.

By asking the same questions for 4 consecutive semester. In propulsion
2, I saw same three questions coming in 4 consecutive semesters. It
was as if AeSI wanted to get those questions engraved in it's students
mind!

By creating a sense of excitement or resentment. Sometimes the
questions are so ridiculously simple and sometimes so very out of
place that you want to burn down the question setter. This is what
aesi question setters frequently aim at. Exciting you to such a point
that you mess up at the examination hall.

Well these are some of the surprises that AeSI has thrown my ways in
my journey of AeSI. All you need to do is figure them out and be
prepared for it. As art of war dictates, knowing your enemy is half
war won. So remember this ways how aesi fails you!

15 Tips for EXAM PREPARATION by Mr Rahul Verma

 All of you are preparing for your exams and most of you are left with three or less papers in sec b, so this may be your last semester of AeSI exams. Next sem most of you will complete your degree.

I know these are the most tensed moments for a society student when he has last semester to complete section B. Question keeps roaming in mind “will I be able to clear the degree this time or not?” What if any of one paper is left? “Again I will have to waste one more sem”

Most of the students start losing their confidence due to peer pressure. And even they are good in knowledge and worked hard full of sem, they fail in one or more papers.

I want to ask WHY TO LOSE THE BATTLE JUST BECAUSE OF YOUR LOW CONFIDENCE??

Try to keep grip on your confidence, I’d tell you few thing that I did and helped me in my last sem of sec B.I will be very happy if it may help you:

1) Just keep in mind: jo bhi karna hai, jitna bhi tension lena hai, bas es sem hi lena hai...etni mehnat krni h ki next sem exam na likhna pade.

2) Plan breaks during your studies, use your most of the time for your preparation by avoiding tiredness.

3) It will be excellent if every day you can write test on previously asked question papers, if yes then do it for all the three subjects every day and mark your mistakes. If you do it for ten days continuously just before your exams then you will get solid confidence and good chances for clearing the papers.

4) Plan your syllabus and write chapter-wise tests on theory and numerical portion for each chapter. Do it in such a way so that most of the things/things where you are weak will get covered in your test.

5) Collect the things on one separate note that you need to revise frequently. List out all the formulas equations and important diagrams use minimum words and use symbols and drawing pictures to minimize the words. It will help you to revise faster.

6) For example if you usually forget the formula to be used in exam then write one test on the formulas only, it may look foolish but later after exam you will find how useful it was.

7) Complete your revision few days before the exams anyhow and plan for writing the test and correction self.

8) Divide your day in to two halves, in one prepare the questions and revise the theory and in second half write the test on the chapter/s you decided earlier.

9) It will boost your self confidence and you will be able to identify where usually you do mistakes in exam.

10) Just circle your mistakes with red pen and write the correction in front of them.

11) In case if you have two or more exams continuously then mix the questions from all those subjects in your question paper and write a detailed test. It will be proved very helpful in exam if you could do this.

12) Now before your exams you need not to revise full syllabus, you can revise most of the things by reviewing your test papers itself.

13) Post the formulas short notes in your room wall, bathroom, and toilet or in kitchen so that you can utilize your time most wisely and efficiently.

14) Keep your weekly and daily plan right in front of you where you sit to study. Write those things on board that you need to do later to avoid missing them.

How to prepare for aeronautical engineering GATE exam?

Read indtroduction to flights by John d Anderson. That's the short
and simple answer!

Will it be enough? By all means, no!!!!! But that book is a good
starting point and can help you in recall, comprehension and
application type of questions of gate.

Apart from this book recomendation, I would say the best way to study
for gate aerospace is study individual topics from the syllabus from
different standard books and pose short quiz questions on all the
things that you read. Use back questions? Section and topics to pose
mini questions. Answer them and onces you are confident in the topic
move ahead.

The main point I want to make is don't do straight question answer
study, read the topics that are in the syllabus, understand them, pose
questions from those understanding and then move to quiz questions.

Solving 10 thousand questions won't help unless you understand the
basics and going from basics is much more easier and time saving and
effecient way to study for any exam.
