AeSI AGM at least attend your graduating ceremony

A good friend of mine whose name I won't reveal but he missed the AGM  (the annual general meeting) of AeSI.  In fact he choose not to go to it even though he was supposed to get his degree.

His reasons!!!!

The usual I can't waste my leaves on this. I don’t have enough time. Well maybe his reasons are reasonable or correct but what I feel is he missed a good opportunity. Its the only time in AeSI you feel what AeSI is, you get to see it physically and only time when the AeSI feels like a real organization than a voice on the phone.

And what's worst is that my friend would have easily been there if if had given it a thought and planning before hand.

For me I was also working when AGM happened for me. So what I did. I took a buddy he was also working at that time. And just at the announcement of the AeSI AGM we planned everything and marked our calendars and made it clear that we will be there.

What I would advice AeSI graduates is first decide that no matter what you will be at the AeSI graduation seminar. No matter how much you plan but first thing you need to do is decide that you will be there. In fact I have reiterated about it in the post Grand Hyatt mein...…

Then look for a buddy, someone who is in the same boat you are, who has the same reason for not making it to AGM. Then when you get the  dates for it make all arrangement immediately

Don't be like my friend, Its your graduating ceremony event and you shouldn’t miss it.

AeSI AGM are you going?

AeSI annual general meeting is scheduled to be held this weekend, that is on 16th Jan. So are you attending it? If you have graduated this year and you are suppose to collect your degree at the AGM, then by no change miss it. Otherwise also if you can attend the AGM don’t miss the opportunity.

AeSI is the time you see the working of AeSI, you get to know the who’s who of the Indian aerospace industry, its the change when you can hears what and where Indian aerospace industry is heading, its the change when you have the chance to interact with aerospace gurus of India. For me it was a chance to talk and shake hands with G Madavan Nair and many others.

AGM

It was great. experience for me. If you are attending this years AGM please do make sure you share your experience.

AGM @ kochi on 18th and 19th

Hi folks

So have you begun planning your trip to the AGM of AeSI’s! Well I have and including my roommate and friend we are all planning a 3 days break in Cochin. The scheduled dates for the AGM are 18th an 19th. 19th is Monday and we all have office so we won’t be staying there for that day. We will be there on the 18th when we will be getting our awards and then we will fly back!!!

Our visit will begin on Friday night and we will be back by Monday morning to greet our respective bosses in the office J.

I know many of you are thinking of skipping it? Well many people do but hey man, you get your degree certificate once in a lifetime so why loose an opportunity to receive it in a formal way. You always have received your exam mark sheets that way, so not try getting the degree certificates in a ceremony. Don’t listen to what seniors say. Last time people got their degrees like a real convocation ceremony minus the black gown and cap, so why miss it now. You know, just saying you are proud to be an aesian’s is not enough. Declare it by going to the AGM, attend it and show the world!!!

People respect those who respect themselves, show have some respect for the degree you have worked so hard and then see people will begin respecting the degree you will take. Come there and join us!!!!

One more thing that I can tell everyone is that this time in AGM there is a high chance of aesi folks to get some opportunities, so don’t miss it. I have heard someone big in Indian aerospace might recruit 6 aesians so who knows may be you might be the one……. So come on folks its only Cochin!!!

How Many AeSI Students Graduate Every Year?

A recent post at ouraesi, someone had this question.

Dear Friends,
can any one tell me " how many AeSI students complete their degree
every year?"
thanks

As of today, no one has replied to it. Since AeSI never releases
anything on this, i can only make a guess.

And my guess is 20 to 30 and sometimes it can stretch to 35!!

This guess depends on my experience of the number of people receiving
AeSI degrees in AeSI AGM's!!

AeSI AGM's can give us the correct estimate of the number of students
graduating from aesi every year, so if you are going for the AGM, keep
an eye on the number of certificates the official of AeSI had!!

Does anybody else have any other idea?

By the way, when is the next AeSI AGM?

Friends, this is just the beginning. With your continued support and endevours, we are likely to excel further in our activity. We need to create a brand of AeSI like IITs/IIMs and we the graduates are the ingredients of this. Each one of us in our respective organisations should feel proud and be the ambassador of AeSIAA. We need to map all our alumnus across all organisations and bring them into single umbrellas for mutual benefit of all. Let pledge to do so. Help AeSIAA, Help yourself by joining and taking active interest in furthering the cause of Aeronautical Fraternity through our AeSIAA.

With this motto in mind we are planning a general body meeting and requesting participation of all AeSI Grads/alumnus settled/working in and around Bangalore in our AGM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at AeSI Bangalore Branch.

Cochin chalo

Italian traveler Nicolas Conti wrote in his travelogue: "China is where you make your money, then Cochin is surely the place to spend it." Well this is the very place the Aeronautical Society of India is organizing its AGM!!! I have never been to Kerala and this AGM in cochin has provide me the opportunity to explore this enchanting state. You mention Kerela and my mind pictures, coconut tree clad river banks and small brownish black boats meandering in them.

Apart from seeing this beautiful city, I am looking forward to meet my fellow aesian's there. It’s great to meet and know about each other. For this reason I think not only the awardees but rest of the folks should come to the AGm's as they help us know and connect to each other. We didn't get this opportunity while we were students but now in AGM, it’s a good place for networking. Orkut is great in online networking but an offline networking opportunity like this coupled with the chance to hear from the leaders of Indian  aerospace is worth grabbing. So guys and gals who are in double mind, make sure you set your foot in kochi! I know that it will be more worthy than the one weekend that you will spend in!!!

Presenting ENEWS from the 58th AGM !!!

Hi folks

Well I am back from the AGM and lot has happened there and speaking about myself, i would say i have enjoyed every bit of the AGM. From the boring lectures to the heated interactions in the AGM with its members in regards to students, marks and fund distribution, I have seen them all and I will be writing more about it as I get time and things come up.

But today I am here to tell you about a new initiative that has been launched for the aerospace community by the AeSI. An ENEWS BULLETINE HAS BEEN LAUNCED. Here's the reasons why it is out directly from the editorial team of Enews.....

"Considering the spectacular achievements in aeronautics and aerospace coupled with the growth in civil aviation in the Country, the Council of the Aeronautical Society of India has decided to issue a monthly e-news to up-to-date developments to its Members and Professionals. The launch of the e-news marks yet another step taken by the Society in the dissemination of information for its over 9000 Members, Corporate Members, Companions, Industries and Institutions involved in the field of aerospace sciences and technologies. The e-news also provides a platform for individuals to seek and offer career opportunities. Industries and institutions can showcase their products. The monthly e-news is managed by a team of dedicated aerospace professionals and hopes to fill the gap of ever growing opportunities and demands by continuous real-time interaction. It is our hope that the aerospace professionals, institutions and industries committed to the growth of aeronautics and space sciences will contribute significantly to the ‘e-news’ service of the Society and make it an interesting and purposeful interactive forum."

I hope all this good work survives, the intentions are good and I hope that the action works out well for this whole thing, as I have seen AVIA, a newsletter from AeSI, die a slow death!!!!

So what are you waiting for folks hit to http://csirwebistad.org/aesi/ and grab your Enews!!!

Does anybody know when the AGM of AeSI is?

I have scanned AeSI.org. I have googled aesi but there is no mention of AeSI's AGM this time? Does anybody know when the AGM of AeSI is? Last info that I had was that its scheduled in December and the venue was Chennai... Can somebody update me about this.

Last 3 AGM's were well publicized, why is this one so low? Is it because of the impact of the last one? I wonder!!!

AGM draft agenda - demand your rights !!!

I don’t know if you read Mr.  Shiladitya Bhowmick’s email. But her I am posting it here in myaesi blog so that who read this instead of the group mails can come forward and be a part of the discussuion.

I must appreaciate the efforts of Mr.  Shiladitya and I think it’s the right time now for getting a draft a document and make consolidated effort to present student’s view at the AeSI AGM!!

So people, come on. Come forward with your suggestions and views!! Its your future that they are playing with!!

 Shiladitya Bhowmick wrote :

Hello Everyone,

Hope all of are doing great in life and work!! This time AGM will be at Chennai in December. I am writing this letter to the group to discuss few of the serious issues relating AESI's administrative procedures. I had been following Mr. Sukhbinder's & some other mails and I highly appreciate their concern for AESI.

As the subject of the mail tells half of the story. But I would like to elaborate it with some case studies. There is no proper feedback from Delhi HO regarding any matters..Aeronautical Society of India is supposed to be the professional guardian of all the student members..but things which are happening at the back stage ..no one knows!!

POINT 1: One of the Graduate got training in Air India (UNPAID) and had been working there since last 15 months on an UNPAID basis and still  he hasn't been able to get a suitable job in civil aviation coz every airlines is asking for experience. MR.R.C.GOYAL calls up Air India office now and then and tells them to terminate his training as i believe AESI has made "the so-called " rules of not giving training for more than a year.

It's not even that some one else is waiting in Queue for Air-India training...its not even that AESI has to give stipend for the candidate..its not even that Air-India is having any problem with his training..Then can Mr.Goyal give us a proper justification of his actions and trying to stop him to make a career out of his own efforts!!

Mr.Thulasidas is the new President of AESI and he must be aware of all the whereabouts of AESI .. Is it believable that a single opening hasn't come to an AESIian in 15 months in Air-India and the guy hasn't been eligible to apply in Air-India..but this is fact!!

Of what I have heard ,there were 20-25 Grads. last year..I would be very keen to know how many Grads.has been assisted by AESI post their degree to get a Job/Training!!!

POINT 2: A GRADUATE called up Delhi HO to terminate his training at HAL ,Hyd as he got admission in MIT,Mr.Goyal tells him "WHY HAVE YOU CALLED ME?? "

Whom are we suppossed to call ....If Mr.Goyal is so bored / disinterested in holding the secretary position of AESI , why is he taking this pain for AESI!!

there are numerous people who are very efficient to take care of the proceedings. There had been numerous incidents like this where he behaved in a very rude manner and i don't have to tell that as i believe every1 must have experienced/experiencing that in their AESI period!

POINT 3: Why is there no proper response/feedback from Delhi HO...I would like to mention Mr.sukhbinder's mail regarding this...every year they put the pass from each center and why this year its a cumulative way....If someone asks for any answer,Mr.Goyal would say ,this decision is by the Governing Council...!!any small matter is discussed in The Governing Council Meeting..So wil he kindly tell us who is part of the Governing body and who are taking these decisions or is he the Governing Body himself and taking decisions ??

POINT 4:Another GRAD called up HO regarding his training after his degree.See the response they give from there --"AREE YAAR..TUJHE BHI LINE BHI LAGA DUNGA !! "

another Grad calls up  Mr. goyal to re- confirm the urgent letter he has sent to HO regarding admission in MIT .He says-"What u want me to do? TO GO TO POST  OFFICE AND COLLECT IT FOR U??"

Is this what AESI all about..?? All AeSI guys had been working very hard to finish their degree and after all this what he get to hear is this!! Aren't they making fun of it and is this a kind of behaviour AESI officials are supposed to do with a Member of AESI..!! Student community make AESI and so who has given them the authority to behave and tamper the image of AESI..!!

POINT 5: Why  are AESI students restricted from getting a normal entry  into IITs,MIT?? Every1 knows what has happened this time regarding admission at  MIT,Anna Univ.(Just to let guys know that most of the national level semninar at MIT is sponsored by AESI )My question is why AESI guys has to struggle in every sphere just to convince people that AESI is a VALID degree.Wouldn't the situation been better if AESI "GOVERNING COUNCIL" takes some actions regarding this!

POINT 6: AESI hands a Life Membership card with Sig. of Mr.Goyal after completion of degree.it is supposed to be meant to attend any meeting of AESI...etc.There are instances where the guy was restricted from getting into the AESI International Seminar as they believe he is not a member of AESI.We would like to request AESI not to take the pain of making the CARD which is for no good !!!

POINT 7:As far as i know,Mr.Goyal is not attending any AGM since few years..is he too afraid to face the students or what??

  SUGGESTIONS:

*All alumni of AESI should come up for the cause and make a council (in co-operation with AESI) which would look for the future growth of student members after their AESI degree. In this regard ,I would like to thank Mr.Bishnujee SIngh,Mr.Raghubir Singh, and numerous others for their unconditional efforts they are doing silently for the betterment of AESI Students.

*All Grad. members should have the right to know the proceeding of AESI..how much revenue is been collected..how much is spent on officials..and how much for betterment of AESI..

I would like to throw some light on a very interesting figure Mr.Sukhbinder put few months back..that 75% - 80% of AESI revenue comes from the Students and only 9% is spent on Stipend ..where is the rest of the revenue ??

THIS LETTER IS JUST A DRAFT VERSION..I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FEEDBACK /RESPONSE  FROM ALL THE AVENUES OF AESI COMMUNITY --ALUMNI'S ..STUDENT MEMBERS..IMMEDIATE GRADS...

PUT UP ALL YOUR FEEDBACKS/SUGGESTIONS AND THEN WE CAN MAKE AN INTEGRATED VERSION OF THIS  AND THAT WILL BE ADDRESSED DURING THIS AGM.

NOW AESI modified syllabus has come with the backing of AICTE and there are more students making their membership but as far as i see...with the continuing trend in the administration....things doesnt look much encouraging..all the youngsters after their +2 might not know all this & getting enrolled with high expectations & hopes are heading to a Dead-End...!!

What is Vijay Mallya doing in this Blog?

This is how Times of India defines Vijay Mallay in an interview or profile published about him way back in 2002!!

vijay-mallya-kingfisher

A panorama of paradoxes. into money born, but unable to spend childhood with a free hand; an inheritance which was his by right, but almost denied; a bachelor most eligible, but a marriage turned sour; a free spirit, but fettered by the label of an image. circumstances have scripted experiences of discovery and rediscovery for this man with a spectrum of silhouettes -- chairman of the ub group; rajya sabha mp; horse-lover; racing enthusiast; keen aviator; party-hopper; spiritual-seeker.... but the most dominant silhouette is that of Vijay Mallya, his own man. not for him the currency of conformity; the straitjacket of being part of the plural.

Now what is Vijay Mallya doing in this Blog? What he has to do with AeSI?

As Mr joshi has informed us already, this time AeSI’s AGM will be held in New Delhi.. what is the new thing that is going to happen. I guess nothing. I hope the AeSI alumni will be formed if things go right.

Apart from this one thing that I am excited about the AeSI AGM this time is about the new President of AeSI. This time it will be no other than Vijay Mallya. I guess in the history of AeSI or in the history of my association with AeSI he is the most flamboyant president that we will have. Yes we had Dr. Abdul Kalam, Madavan Nair and many others but this is the first time that kingfisher chairman will donning the hat.

I don't know how much this be of help to AeSI students and members but its good to know that a person I love to read about and a person who entrails passion and enthusiasm in me is going to be the president of AeSI.

For those who don't know him here's a great little bio of Mr. Mallya

AeSI hidding information !!!

I will tell you something unique about the results this time. But before I will tell you about it I would like to share what happened in the AeSI AGM in cochin!! As most of you, who follow OURAeSI, may know that Air Cmde Raghubir Singh gave a presentation on "Making AMAeSI a Viable option” in the AGM held at Kochi on 18 Feb 07, where he sited the passing percentage of the students in each subject.

The presentation had engaged the attention of all the members including G Madhavan Nair. The paper cited POF and other subjects passing percentages and brought the attention of aesi members on the exam passing figures. Even I am documenting those figures for 3 years and have the lists on the passing percentage but now if you have looked at the results published for June 2007, aesi has conspicuously removed that appeared and passed section from its result.

Only thing they now display is the passing students roll number and their corresponding marks?

So what do you all make of this? Why is aesi hiding those numbers? Is this the effect of embarrassment that they felt when this figures were pointed out in the AGM? Is this information hiding correct? Aren't we entitled to know those numbers?

Please have you say.... I will be emailing aesi to publish those figures. I think being transparent and accountable is the way to go for any body, this way of hiding information doesn't increase my confidence in aesi!

How are you preparing for 2020

For those who were part of the AeSI AGM in 2014 might have heard this at the venue.  For the rest here’s a snippet..

G M Rao, GMR chairman and current President of Aeronautical Society of India.

Addressing the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), Rao said that India was poised to become the third largest aviation market in the world by 2020. The total spending in the next two decades was expected to be $25 billion for commercial aircraft and $100 billion as defence expenditure.

He, however, said that the biggest challenge to meet the enormous growth potential of aerospace and defence sector would be skilled workforce. Though India has ample technically trained manpower, “there is dearth of personal with specialised skills, particularly in the sphere of aerospace”, he added.

So what does this mean for you?

And here's a question for you.  How are you preparing for 2020?

When is the next AeSI AGM?

Does anyone know, when is the AeSI's next annual general meeting?

AeSI's website www.aerosocietyindia.in donot have any information
regarding this?

But someone informed me that AeSI's next agm will be held in and
around 8-10 February in Bangalore.

If anyone have this information, please do pass this on to us!!

INCOME EXPENDITURE

Well this is how AeSI is spending money!! I made this to just show what is the income

and expenditure pattern of AeSI. As you can see more than 75% of the income is derived

from students as students subscription fee and examination fee. While its spends just 9% on student stipends.

While attending AGM this time, as I saw these figures, I was surprised at the disparity and had a wish to show this to everyone.

More on this within a week. But I hope in the next AGm, with so much talk concerning improvement in society, this amount spent on students should grow!
