HAL Diary 4
Dear friends
it has been long time since last i shared my experiences with you since joining HAL as due to work and all i was a bit busy. but i received so many mails from so many friends who wanted me to continue sharing my experience.
Our true training started since i came to HAL hyderabad coz here only i got to see the work culture learning the things in practical way , interacting with so many experienced people.you also get to apply your own ideas and thoughts. but the best part of them all was being a part of so many prestigious projects like LCA , Sukhoi 30 etc directly or indirectly.
and ofcourse i also learnt the hard reality that grass is not always greener on the other side.Being in a public sector has its own disadvantages and it always doesnot work out the way u think. you have to fight for everything . you would feel that things should be done in this way but you cannt do that . initially we had to fight for everything as our sudden presence as Grade II officers was not accepted pleasantly by many. facilities provided were no better and everybody was taking their own sweet time in listening to our complaints. but once we stood united and raised our concerns upto Corporate office everything was provided overnight.
so many other problems too like workers , unions etc but in the end its all part of game. u have to make your own way .
life at hyderabd has been a bit difficult initially for most but people like me who had lot of experience of chennai and AeSI didnt face much of the trouble. in my batch about 50 trainees have come to HAL hyderabad and it really feels good to be the lone Aeronautical Engineer in the lot. infact i haven't come across anybody joining as Grade I or Grade II being aeronautical engineer. and i do feel proud when i introduce myself in the hall full of people.
being together with so many regular college students has also taught me that except from lack of practical knowledge we are no way less than them . infact i found that they all know just about their own engineering stream and that too partially. unlike them i found we know so much more and in vast subjects. even being from avionics i can talk about engines or mechanics or electrical or workshop technology . well i guess thanks to multiple attempts in "Principles of flight" and "electrical" papers. and i tell you after seeing my work and knowledge nobody questions my credentials.
and now the biggest benefit of being in public sector is the great social life. we have enough time to enjoy to relax to play . we have swimming pool to relax ,table tennis , an indoor badminton court where we play badminton even upto 12 in the night.
so it has been about 3 and a half months at HAL Hyderabad and it all has been great learning experience. our next phase of training is in bangalore at HAL management Academy from there we will go to IIT Kharagpur or chennai.
HAL is recruiting in large numbers as there is shortage of manpower . so for aesi u need just 60pc to apply . currently 400 positions are there for engineers . package offered is 5.18 lakh CTC. so u can see lot of scope for all of us.
i will keep sharing my experience.
regards
