Lets Go Back in Time?

In 2005 i joined NAL as a trainee still having to clear one paper. At the same time i began a new personal blog to pen my thoughts on this. That time i made the blog private and it was private for so long.

today i decided to open it up and when i was linking to it in this blog.

then i learnt that i can meagre the posts with this blog. So that is what i did.
i merged all the post with myAeSI and you can find them in this blog.

Most important lesson....

Most important thing i have learnt in NAL till now is that software's are just tools, and the work is the core. So learn the core tools will automatically follow. Tool without work is waste.

It was like twitter for me back in 2005!! Short simple, straight to the point.

Stipendiary training programmes in NAL

The stipendiary training programmes for Diploma / Graduate / Post GraduateTraining Programmes

Applications for one-year training programmes at the Diploma, Graduate (BE/BTech/MSc/MCA etc) and post graduate (ME/MTech/MPhil only) levels are invited.Click here to access application form.

a) These programmes are designed to induct fresh Diplomas, Graduates and Post-Graduates in different disciplines to get an exposure to the various facilities and S & T developments and to take part in the ongoing R & D programmes of NAL. The duration of the stipendiary training programme is for one year.

b) NAL provides special opportunities to the reserved categories of the society. Among the programmes designed for them is the Dr. Ambedkar Trade Training Programme, exclusively for SC/ST candidates with ITI qualification in different disciplines.

Appointment of PAs on a contract basis purely temporary in nature for a duration not exceeding 5 years. Selection is against the notified vacancy in the project. Candidates can move from lower to higher level subject to performance review by committee appointed by Director.

CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns

CSIR has introduced a new HRD initiative – The CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards to be implemented in all the CSIR labs effecting from April 2003. The aim of the scheme is to induct 30 young Interns to work in the R & D environment to imbibe the spirit of enquiry and learning through participation The selection of candidates is done newspaper announcement followed by interview by a committee.

Qualification BE / MSc with 1st Class: all relevant branches with a stipend of Rs.7,500/- per month for a period of two years.

CSIR has instituted a large number of CSIR Fellowships (selection through competitive test) to encourage qualified young scientific and technical manpower to be grown and utilised for the cause of science and technology research in the country.

Project training for students of  ME, M.Tech, MCA and MSc of all Universities

The students are required to carry out project work as a pre-requisite for completion of their degree. Project of interest to NAL are given to the students so that while students are exposed to the latest technological developments, NAL too benefits from the project work.

My first test upon enterning the aerospace industry

My journey into the aerospace industry began with the training at nal. I was assigned under dr. Ramamurty of clocter division of nal.

In nal, my first task was to write a program or otherwise calculate the overall configuration of a micro gas turbine that generated 10N of thrust.

I guess this task was a test that my mentor put me through to test my gas turbine knowledge and programming skills that were listed in the resume he had. I successfully did my task and the c basic program i built for the task is still alive somewhere in my harddisk.

So what's the point. The point is you will always be tested when you join the industry. Be it at the training stage or in the floors of corporate.

So keep yourself updated and be prepared.

One important lesson I have learnt from my boss in NAL

When you are learning catia or solidworks or any other CAD or Analysis software... always remember to see the big picture....

That's one important lesson I have learnt from my boss in NAL.

All questions will be answered if you know and see the big picture.

And incidentally this apples not only in learning a particular software but to everything in life. Have a big decision to make move back and see the big picture and you will have the answers to your questions!!

NAL's RTA has competition

The Japan Aircraft Development Corporation has initiated a study to develop a new 100-150-seat narrowbody aircraft titled "YPX".

If launched, the aircraft would compete directly against the Bombardier CSeries and 737/A320 replacement at the lower end of the short-range market. Entry into service would be targeted around the 2018-2019 timeframe.
