Theme of the year!!!

Well  this  is  the  random quote  that came up as i opened my  gmail account!!  well  liked it immediately  and  now  this  year in 2006, it will be my  theme of the year.

 

The more you know the less you need to say!!!!  so know  more, i am  known to be not  so gregarious, and  it  might seem that  its shouldn't be the right  thing  for me. But hey, i don't  know what this quote said to  you, but  to me it shouted know more!!!! 

 

With  my resolutions almost ready to be finalised,  i  hope  i complete them  fully this year, last year's resolutions were too steep and  too broad so this  time i have taken care to make them  clear cut and  not  let some loose ground to go around them. 

 

Most of them involve my career  this time and i  hope i will complete each and every one of  it.

 

 

With  2005  has given me a lot, i hope the coming year  fulfill all my wishes and gives me the power to  do  what i would like to  do  the most in the world  that is to make a difference!!!

My 150th day part v

Future plan for the next 150 days, is to work hard and learn the work, get familiar with the tools, and give back my boss for which he hired, or should i say selected me. I have gained q lot in ~QL and in my next inings as kis would have called it, i.ll like to give my boss and nal somethinw !

The difference between me who entered nal and now, apart from softwares, is that i have quiet a few friends, learnt how things work in organisations and plunged into a professional world! Moreover i tasted recognition!

Another occasion that comes to mind was when i did Ansys all day. That day i didn't wanted to in home, i wished then to extend Nal's working hours!! I was engrossed with That so much thqt i wanted to stay with all night!

Most memorable moment that i can think of in nal is the one when my boss called me in his cabin and said, 'i like your work!' its special coz there was no need of saying that on that day but seeing my work he couldn.t stop himself frm commenting!

Tomorrow will be my 150Th day in NAL!! During these daypg have worked on and learnt matlab, solidworks and consolidated my c skills. My greatest thing being in NAL, is working with my bOss and knowing him.

Truly a window's program

This was my second day and eighth hour using NASTRAN and the greatest feature so far was the undo feature, makes working and learning easy and comforting!! plus one to nastran!

NASTRAN

Heard about it, read about it, even wrote about it, but today finally tried it. This is finite element modelling and post processing tool. Don't know which is powerfull but nastran is fAR pleasant to work with. More latter.

NAL

Just after three days, it will my 150th day in NAL, bangalore and this occasion demands a big article and i'm planning to come up with it. Don't know as to what will be the content yet But i guess it will merit a good post.

Gambit

Well till yesterday, i didn't know what was this, till yesterday, before manas Bhaiya, talked i knew nothing about it. Its a software complimenting fluent. Like hypermesh as manas da poiTed out

As promised I  would  to  write  something on my meeting with Mr. Bishnujee Singh.

This I am doing for the benefits of the people who were not able to meet him  due  
exams or  other reasons.

Since so many days have passed and I can't  boast of a crystal memory, so all I will 
pen is what I have retained and remember. Another thing is the lettering may not be 
exact what Mr. Bishnujee said  but the essence is same.

Clad in a white t-shirt with Boeing 787's front view jutting out  from the chest region, he 
sat in one corner of his hotel room in front of his open laptop, while we, four of us , 
circled him.

Introductions  apart  he  moved on to the themes  and the discussions that  were 
interesting  revealing and inspiring. 

Here I try to present  his advice on various things.

On finding jobs:

Don't  only  just  go for the newspaper jobs, These  mostly come out at last resort or as  supplements. So  when you are ready, just send in your  resumes direct to the hiring  managers!!!!!  Reference do  play a part so select it carefully.

On general mood of the aesi people.

Change your attitude, be proud of what you are doing.  Know and believe its one of the 
best course that  you are doing. Know your worth. And  instead of looking  on the 
negative people of aesi  but see  bright  sides  like anshuman etc and so  many others  who  are and have achieved  success. Face the sun and all shadows will fall behind!!!!!

On studying:

Read  entirely. read with passion and with full dedications. Studying for AMAeSI is a full  time job. Devote your full time to it. Save yourself from part time jobs craze unless it  helps in your professional development.

On Mtech:

As  my views in ouraesi, its  more important to  get  some good experience in some 
blue-chip  companies than studying  oceans and HR in IIT's!!!!  The  world  comes to 
India not to get a manager but and engineer. So  get those skills.

On studying abroad,

Well  I insist on UK  because its much more easier to  get there and study than US 
and one should  have a minimum  work exposure so that they don't feel alien  to the ms  courses offered!!! 

Well  that's  it for  now. This is the only  thing  I remember right now, will write back if I 
remember something else. And  yes,  as I said the wording may not be exact same 
but  the essence is totally same.

But  before I close I would  like to add  a thanks to  Mr. Bishnujee for the time  and the 
effort he took for all of us.  Its  great to see a person making a difference. And like the  
Boeing 787 soaring on his t shirt, I wish him all the best for his  career and wish it to 
soar new heights!!!!

 

 

lessons from mr man

Mr man is my collegue at nal, irritating sometimes but he has taught me many lessons, most important being the value of interpreting data while manupulating it. for me number interpetatIon comes latter.

This is what we need to do....

John F. Kennedy  said "Things do not happen. Things are made to happen." And that  i think is we need to do and some of ouraesi club members are doing. 

 

Its good to know people do care and understand our problems.  And are trying to  turn things around.......  if  any of these is  not making any sense  please visit  ouraesi club  on yahoo.....

 

Missed me...

My last post here i think was on seventh. Missed me kya? I was in chennai away from nal, so missed out on things but from tomorrow i'm back again hopefully with some bang!!

My message for our aesi on the first day!!!!

  Today  while introducing a friend of mine to  ouraesi club, i  saw  this a message i posted on May 10th 2002 1:39pm,  when this club  was born. And  remembered all things that had  happened  on that  day  to  get  this club  up and running. 


Many of things i said on that  day are  still relevent and now after 646 members in the club, i feel  proud  in seeing the club florish and soar hight.

It  feels  good to  know  that  a thing  is there now  where aesi  graduates  can come and gather, a place where one can file questions that  might  get an answe\. None existed when i needed one such answer and that created this club!!!

Its  has a long  journery  from the time when i have to coax my friends to  join, from the time when i alone posted and when, none new about ouraesi club!! It  has  grown and it will continue to  grow  from support of  so  many of its  members!1 thank  you  all  and  please  do  contribute, its  your  chance to  make difference.....

Welcome Member

Every college, engineering or otherwise, has a community! But for
Aeronautical society's student there's none. No place to gather , no
place to meet and no place to share. so i came up with the idea of
this group where through net we can interact and communicate with all
our fellow mates who are spread all over india !!

This is a mammoth task and a single individual can't complete it
alone. So i hope all the members joining here will take this task in
there hand & will spread the word for this group to there immediate
friends and will unite all the students of AeSI.

I am a member to one group but that group is very passive only 2 or 3
people contibute to the group rest just keep mum and i don't want
this to happen to our group. Hey AeSI students are not lazy!! So
please make it a point to contibute something, maybe how trival, once
in a week to the club. It can be anything ; a small artile you read,
or a very good site you visited , a great exam tip you heard or even
your problems in flights question paper you can't solve....

The idea here is just to contibute and show that we are an active
community.

The success and failure of any community depends on its people's. And
here the onus is on you. Borrowing John D Anderson words, my work is
done, yours is just begining................

A little apology

Hi
  First of all a little apology, i owe to  you  all for  sending one message  repeatedly for three times, actually it was  a problem with my  mobile which i used sending the message, it  showed server not responding and i clicked thrice. Sorry!!!


Anyway,  exams  are over, at least for propulsion and aerodynamics students!!!   This  time the general mood of the exam was happy  except of course the Flights exams which  got  questions from ASM and Prop three.

As someone i talked pointed out, "this time  questions in aesi exams were knowledge based!" and  seeing VMD, ASM, P3 and MATHS 3 paper, i think he  is not  exactly  wrong.

More on exams latter !!! And yes, if  you  sometime  see  one message posted more than once, please ignore cause you  know  my  mobile misfired!!!!

I met Bishnujee singh

I met Bishnujee Singh yesterday ane today i.m mailing in middle of my
preparation just to tell you if possible don't miss the chance to meet him.
A little positiveness and big motivatin will not harm you. xe will be in
bangalore till 19Th. }ore on my meeting with him after exams!!

Yes this time from all that i have heard and talked about to students of aesi, this exams questions are questions to cash. Cashto leap ahead! Basic theory is the theme this time, so casx on guys, there's no hidden camerras around!!

With cyclone Fanoos deciding to spare chennai and sun finally making appearance is a relief. Studies under sunny weather are more productive and welcome. Best Wishes to all those appeari~g for exams!

Bracing for a cyclone named...

As chennai braces for cyclone Fanoos, aesi students in nanganallur are busy bracing themselves for the cyclone called exams! Streets are empty, tea shops vacant, and visit any room, bookS strewn on tables is t scene.

Today learnt.....

Nasa paid 5 billions for the same mistake that i was doing. Its explorer of mars become non functional because of dissimiliar units.... for t whole day my total program bugEd me.

AGM mein

 

Imagine a big hall full of people, some sitting on the beautifully constructed podium and other in posh chairs. Imagine yourself sitting with friends listening to the not-so-interesting lectures and clapping at recipients of awards and then you hear  your name being called. After  a while when u finally realize its  you only they are announcing and you move forward to the podium to get your degree , the DJ sound increasingly resonating with the claps that propel you towards the podium. you somewhat  dazzled, but brimming with pride accept the prize. And imagine getting the degree from the face of Indian aeronautics, and being congratulated by him and clapped by a hall full of people some very  eminent  personalities of our time. And imagine yourself wishing so hard at that very moment that your parents were there and see their son's moment of achievement... Well if  you haven't  gone to the AGM this time  you  have  the missed this exact feeling...... and  you can just now imagine, as told to me by  my roommate  who was there at the scene of action.

I can't possible recount the things that happened there but then from what I heard and from what I have felt while talking to friends who went there, each of them have enjoyed and  had a great  time.  Of course as with any big  functions there are bound to be some small glitches like a friend of  mine lost the very thing  he  went there to collect, his degree certificate and one lost 1000 bucks,  but  hey as  shah rukh khan said "bade bade sharaoo  mein asccci  chhoti choti  baate  hoti rehti hai! " and having said i hope and wish that they will recover the  things!! 

Anyway  some of the good things that people liked was that the degrees were awarded  not  behind close doors  as I  and  I  guess you  also  have heard from so many of our seniors, this  time it was in open and  in full ovations.....  I  admit there were no  black gown and black caps to swing up for that Kodak moment  but  hey  the jester of getting the degrees  in a ovation was  worth any  gown, and  I  am sure anyone who  has gone there and received the degree will surely  agree.

Another thing was that this  time degrees were awarded and they were given in a file folder to hold it.  This was the first time this has happened, in my knowledge.

Many members of this very club have visited the place, I hope people will share their experiences with us and let us know firsthand what they loved and hated about it. (of course that includes the vodkas, teas, juices and snacks!! And I heard from someone the tea was third class)  And  for all those graduating next,  my  friend and roommate  has  one  resounding thing to say 'go ahead, don't  miss it for your life and be sure I'll there next time among the one clapping  for you!'' 

 

 

Chennai...

With so many students in aesi, one can safely call chennai, student hub of aesi! so next week i'll be going there and i guess you can expect my regular updates about exams from there. Another post one can expect is on what happened at the agm in mumbai!

My contributions to ouraesi club in terms of post have decreased and i guess the reason being this blog where i post exclusively from my phone. Another reason being now i think twice or sometimes more times before i post. Y? Maybe i want pemple to like my post than to get my msg across or mAybe...

Matlab ii

Softwares should be like it, they should let you expand, inflate and let you rise higher. Thats what matlab is making me feel now.

I first touched matlab in aug and after five hours i left it. Never thought them that i'll be so gripped by it now when i've used it more than 60 hours. I get ideas to use it in so many Ways.

Grand Hyatt mein.....

Its  second December and all  the must be enjoying there at  Grand Hyatt and why  not?  Its a important day for them, the  culmination of the labour they have been putting, the fruits  that they were waiting.......   My  roommate  and friend, who is there informs  me "Its good been there!' And from the way he said these thinks to me over phone, i can say he wants none to miss an event like this.

 

Don't  have much details  though  but  this  time he informs  some of the degrees  were awarded by  ISRO Chief and  not  handed over behind close doors as i heard!!  More info as it comes. 

 

But  from his  phone call it was clear, one should never miss such a thing.

This is my.....

This is my seventeenth week in NAL, bangalore. And i've enjoyed every bit of it. From my boss's dedication to dm's "That is not important, this is", i have seen all. Its a blessing to be Under my boss.

Today learnt importance of teacher. yes i believe they are important but today saw that without doing anything your teachers can propel you far, just like my boss did today!

November software update....part v

Did the inclusion of excel surprised you. well don't be, its really a powerfull software, limited in its use only by your ignorance. Almost 90 % of its users only use 10% of its capabiliY.

My total number of flying hours as of yesterday is 384 hours! In this hours solidworks is at number one, matlab a distant second and c a close third, followed by excel!!

Good point is that the month i concentrate on one software i do make the hundred mark as in september and now in november. So one should concentrate on one software and this both softwarEs im using coz of my work.

Well another fact that emerged out of the data i presented to matlab was that solidworks is the software which has the highest flying hours. It is the only one which has crossed the 100 Mark with 115!

Well, first good news. This month became the highest garner of numbers surpassing september's record of 103 by two hours! This has because of my focus on matlab!
